The second day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion week opened up on a promising note with Shehla Chatoor opening the day. For someone who is known for her bridals, Ms. Chatoor impressed me to a great deal. Sexy, sultry and confident women seemed to be the key words which described her collection.
Comprising mostly of wraps and dresses, the collection was an ode to ornamentation and how. High end luxury definitely oozed from her collection and made for an impressive presentation. With custom designed prints for the fashion house, which include”playful putti in beribboned cartouches, mythic gargoyles, resplendent acanthuses and elaborate festoon friezes” ,the collection was a winner all the way The silhouettes were mostly wraps, togas and draped and cocktail dresses, which were kept simple to let the baroque themed prints and ornamentations shine. Using mostly silks, she used lime greens and oranges and combined them with nudes and blacks. The accessories were given a thought too and were custom made Shehla Chatoor herself. They included belts, chains, gold coin necklaces and gladiators presenting a high end rich collection.
My picks from her collection were surprisingly all darker pieces. There were these two draped black dresses clinched at waist, while the print of the cape was just impeccably done. Another dress that I really liked was this black and white printed long dress
