Veteran Rizwan Beyg took on centre stage with his unapologetically colourful presentation aptly titled Rangg. Another truck art inspired collection after Yahsir Waheed, this time around we experienced another spin on it at the hands of the master. “Each piece was handmade individually by artisans who had laboriously cut and pasted bits of reflective paper and nikel sheeting using flora and fauna motifs in a riot of colour”.

Using a range of bright colors, Rizwan Beyg used materials like crushed chiffons, georgettes, leathers and silks for his collection. Giving us a range of silhouettes from corsets, jackets and skirts to tunics, bell bottoms and tapered trousers, he covers a pretty broad spectrum of separates. Also showing around seven menswear looks, along with his womenswear, Rizwan beyg brought the house down with item numbers as his background score that had everyone grooving to them (especially me). The master that he is, experimenting with the technique of deconstructing seams and folding them over to create interesting effects, Mr Beyg added an extra punch to his garments without going OTT. What he has tapped into is in giving that effect, into people who prefer subtle detailings While the colors were accessorized with boots and bags, the white and black garments with truck art going on, were winners all the way. With such bases, the colors really popped in the most interesting of ways.

While the colors were accessorized with boots and bags, the black and white garments had truck art going on them. With such bases , the colors really took the limelight and popped up in fun unexpected ways. The knee high boots with truck art motifs was one of the major highs of the show. With boots and bags of various lengths and shapes, they were adorned with colourful truckart motifs with just the right balance. Furthermore many of the garments were accessorized with truck arty belts too which provided the perfect accents to them.

Because I loved most of the stuff it was pretty difficult for me to choose amongst what I liked. My picks:  the first one has to be this circular bag with truck art motifs, its such a drool worthy messenger bag that I was literally tempted to hack it off the runway. Then there was the truck are white hoodie, the white pants with truck art motifs happening at the hem, the black jacket, the black truck art waistcoat, the yellow dress (loved the seam details and rosettes) and the one shoulder teal top.

It was a after a long time when Rizwan Beyg did such a happening show. Happy to have him back.
