Deepak Perwvani with his extension of his tres chic collection showcased on Day2. The extension of his resortwear pretty much was on the same grounds as his collection in Fashion Pakistan Week (read here what all that was about).
While the collection did include a few of the earlier pieces, the welcome extension of the collection was pretty good and in most parts better than the earlier showing. The collection majorly hand printed ensembles, dresses, slouched tunics and cropped pants punctuated with a few rich toned solids and neutrals contrasting against the whole palette, yet not quite losing the connection. A lot of print on print made its way on the ramp along with accessories, especially the studded ones that featured on lust list twitter timeline of quite a few women who were watching the show. The menswear pieces were good with printed shirts… Thank God he did not do printed pants to tag along with them. Also a note.. I loved the aviators that he paired the outfits with, perfectly styled with simple hair…this vacation season, many people are sure to stock up on Deepak
What was good was the whole collection was available next day at the opening of his next store. A good pre-planned production ensured smooth runway to retail, while I wasn’t present there but from pictures, it was all there.
Still missing the kitschy dramatic Deepak, the collection did have its share of misses. The cowled dip dyed effect dress still did not belong to the collection. A high low tunic also wasn’t a bit too flattering and could have been avoided out. A few of the printed pants had a bit of Sania Maskatiya hangover. Also I wished he would have explored menswear more. Fun menswear is needed for people like me. Not one of his best, but probably because I had seen the collection before, but definitely not the bad ones of the day 2.
My picks: Loved the studded clutch, These two outfits were my picks even in the last showing, The menswear pieces.. while I had my eye on them since FPW showing and seeing it in black, I totally cheated on white.. but having both wouldn’t hurt either. a trip to the store is in order before it runs out if its retailing. Also the black dress and some all of the fun printed bags are sure to be picked up by ladies all over.
