PSFW 2016 Day 1

It is always an exciting time when fashion week and presentations happen back home. PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is one such occasion that is marked on my calendar weeks ahead and boy am I having a blast going through the collections. While I am not watching it live! time difference from back home and work commitments, I do miss out meeting colleagues, fellow bloggers and designers. It is always exciting to see what the designers have been working on and being a designer myself, it becomes second nature to see what is going on. Films in Fashion – 2015

Untitled-2 While there were compelling stories on big screen this year, A lot of period films made to the forefront. From50s to 20s to mid 1800s from various geographical areas and timezones made this year quite a reflection on the past century of how the fashion has evolved over time. Transformations, character arcs and even playing pivotal roles in stories and narratives, clothing is one of the outer reflections that help judge the audience what the director wants to convey about a certain person on screen. Mad Love   -Romance was Born
Once in a while in a fashion week comes a collection that throws all commercial constraints out the window in their runway presentation, yet their business acumen is so sharp that they know how everything will trickle down in stores with much more wearable option. If you don’t catch attention on the ramp, then where!! Romance was born was that show. I have to admit , that with the brand I had a sort of love-hate relationship one that thrives on design n elements n conversations between the two. 23Held at Art Gallery of NSW the show was one of those fantasy ones where it is done just right with a big dollop of the brand’s crazy-ness.
