Menswear at AIFWSS17

One of the most underrated markets at these fashion weeks are the menswear, thankfully, we did manage to have quite a few shows during the fashion week but there have to more with regards to that,

DHRUV VAISH
Keeping it simple and clean, what stood out in Druv Vaish were his fun prints especially the multi color horizontal lines. Furthermore I loved the diagonal lines within looks with the cross over Read the rest of this entry »

Day 2 – MBFW 16

The second day did manage to hit quite the mark on the resort vibe with something that we are familiar of the season. Relaxed outings to some body con dresses ending with Dion Lee’s impressive presentation. From important business decisions to commercial concepts to evolutions, Day 2 was pretty interesting and safe at the same time to say the least…

THE RESORT-FUL GINGER AND SMART
With their latest collection, the sisters Alexandra and Genevieve Smart prove that no one knows their clientele better than them. Their collection of monochrome and champange punctuated with blues and prints, was laced with fringes, sheer and slinky layers. Resorting to their signature chic silhouettes, Read the rest of this entry »

day1

It is always an exciting time when fashion week and presentations happen back home. PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week is one such occasion that is marked on my calendar weeks ahead and boy am I having a blast going through the collections. While I am not watching it live! time difference from back home and work commitments, I do miss out meeting colleagues, fellow bloggers and designers. It is always exciting to see what the designers have been working on and being a designer myself, it becomes second nature to see what is going on. Day 1 at the fashion week, like usual, came with its share of hits and misses

Ethereal Romance   – Michael Lo Sordo
The ethereal collection presented by Michael Lo Sordo could best be described as the subtle romance of epic proportions at best. Draped as well as structured, his dresses were of overblown proportion. But for the designer, the genius lied in the details. The micro pleating Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion Pakistan Week Day 4

Raw Romance
Sonya Battla’s Manora collection used art pieces by Naiza Khan within ensembles as prints. It sort of reminded me of when Raf Simons used Warhol’s unpublished sketches and drawings for Dior’s show. However Battla’s collection rested on her draped strengths and skills paired with deconstructed aesthetic thread that ran Read the rest of this entry »

Fashion Pakistan Week Day 1

The recently concluded Fashion Week had quite a few moments… some good many uh oh they didn’t . With its title sponsors as Telenor, the Fashion Pakistan Week, even though managed to pull off a fashion week, had a moments few and far in between. A stringent screening of collections would have helped and narrow things down to a much more gratifying fashion week.

Pretty Party
The thing about Nida Azwer is that when she restrains herself to a limited color palette, she scores major brownie points within the pretty arena. Kicking off the fashion week, Nida went her usual pretty route with a french trellis inspired collection that rested on a neutral and metallic color palette with some very pretty embroidered treatments. Like I said earlier about Nida… She will never do NOT PRETTy Read the rest of this entry »

Ok So while Kick has received mix reviews, one thing that actually stood out when the songs were released was Ms. Jacqueline. While I have never felt much about her, she first came to notice, when LAT LAG GAYI came out and my she literally MOVED in that song. Credit where it is due, she slogged her way and you can see fun she has while on the journey. Sorry to Salman but in this song, she is definitely the scene stealer literally killing it. The nerdy teacher look going all smokin hot in the Dolce and Gabbana lace dress which she nails to a T. The red dress does all kind of favor to her curves and dissing that trench she makes most of the screen time she has lookin fab. To add to the hotness… its red *fans self*
