Like Day 4, Day 5 too showcased a number of fun and yet commercially viable collections, which seem to be a running theme through out the fashion week and it makes sense since there are buyers coming in for business and to look for what will sell, but the designers do need to show what they are capable of instead of belting out tried and tested options .
The second fashion week of the season, The fashion week from Lahore had quite a few interesting collection that did explore the fun and business sides of fashion. The collections both by debutantes and established designers definitely had people sit up and take notice how pret is evolving within fashion. While there were a few that stuck to the formulaic commercialism, others did dare to venture out, pushing the envelope and making a damn point.
Day 5 was mostly filled with swimwear and active wear with designers like P.E. Nation making their debuts with forays into activewear, however there were two shows that stood out.
Cyntihia Rowley was quite the international addition to the showcase lineup. Going for the obvious surfing culture of the country, Rowley’s presentation included a lot of beach and swimwear in graphic prints, with models sashaying down with surfboards… however there were quite a few many of camel toe moments Read the rest of this entry »
